Africa, Sudan, Magwi County, Mugale/Nimule Road, Caught In Between, Northern Uganda/Southern Sudan - Villagers from Mugale flee their village. The Lord's Resistance Army ambushed Mugale, injuring a woman and killing a man. Since the attack the 15,000 inhabitants of Mugale have been making an exodus out of the village towards nearby Nimule. The war in the region began in 1986 between the Lord's Resistance Army and the Ugandan People's Defense Forces (UPDF). The LRA has reigned terror and carnage on Northern Uganda and Southern Sudan ever since. The ongoing conflict has significantly damaged the region and has left an ongoing burden on the local population. December 2005 © Stephen Blake Farrington
