During the day Mbikko is a normal working semi-rural village. The inhabitants are mainly lower level in jobs and income, sanitary is sub-par and resources are scarce. During the night the village is transformed into a haven for truckers usually passing through from Kenya westward towards Kampala, the capital. It is a place where bars light up and supply food and alcohol to hundreds of customers. If the truckers are interested they will readily find accommodation to rest their heads at night or to take their choice of many prostitutes for the half hour or the night. HIV/AIDS and other STDs are bounced throughout this village due to the high level of travelers in transit, money and a consistency of sexual activity. Mbiko, Mokono District, Uganda, Africa.
